JEFFIE B.

Jeffie was born into a talented musical family.
Mother played and taught piano.
 Father played floor Bass guitar.
So his destiny was to play music!
He remembered he and his brothers sneaking out the house
to go see his dad playing,
his brothers hiked him up to look in the window of the club.

Of course they got caught and there dad sent them home.
He was only about 10 years old at the time.
To him that was a big deal, and exciting time in his life.

Jeffie started playing sax at the young age of eight.
Took acting and dance along with his brothers.
Steve the oldest played key board and Terry the youngest played bass guitar.

As a drummer, Jeffie played pots and pans, on the front metal gate, even on his pops golden egg collection that really had a good sound.
He and his brothers started their careers young as studio recording musicians.

Jeffie played in the high school marching band were he met Charm.
He played in night clubs at an early age. In bands such as Split Decision, In Flight, Buckeye Politicians to name a few.

Played with great names like Millie Jackson and Dennis Edwards.

Learned from some of the best such as the famous
Billy Cobham when living in NY.
As time went on he picked up the ability to Harmonize and Sing.

Went into the military, played and traveled in the military band
 in New York.

Jeffie graduated from Norfork Virginia School Of Music.

Then started a group in the middle 80's called
Mersadees Binns he picked up the name from his brother Terry
that was using the name Mersadees Binns. Terry left town to go play with another group.
So Jeffie kept the name, packaged the name and here we are, Mersadees Binns.

CHARM BINNS

Always into music as a little girl
her dad had big band playing like Dizzy Gillespie, Fats Domino and
jazz such as Lonnie Liston Smith, Donald Byrd and Bobbi Humphrey.
The Blues with Bobby Blue Bland and BB King.
This music just filled her soul playing through speakers in every
corner ceiling in every room of the house.

She loved Smokie, Steve Miller, Stevie, the Eagles, Chaka and oooh Aretha with her church and soulful sound, such as

(I say a little prayer for you!)

She started writing songs when she was about 11
years old.
She would always find jobs to do for the people in the
neighborhood to buy records, paper and pencils.
there was a swinging bridge at Alum Creek that she would
set and write songs that was in her head.
As a writer you have to keep paper and pencil at bay.
So she has it even now in the restroom, by the bed, in the kitchen,
in the car, in her purse, pencil on her ear just to scratch word  down when she gets a creative rime, She knows it drives Jeffie a
little crazy at times.

Singing with a trio at age 15, her Umie (Mother) got them into clubs to sing.
They wore makeup and wore high heals to look a little older.
Barely old enough to know better.

Charm wrote rap for the young MC's and  wrote for Shug  A 6 year old. They called her Shug because she remind you of Shug Avery a jazz singer, she was the Young MC's opening act.
she was a show case all by her self on stage she held the audience
from beginning to end.

People loved the tunes Charm wrote so She wanted to share this gift.

Charm ran into Jeffie again later, some years after high school
and sang in his band, and they clicked in the studio it was like magic.
Now they Make sweet music together as Mersadees Binns.
